In this article, I will be going back to Euro 2016 to discuss Fernando Santos 4-4-2 diamond tactic with Portugal, under my FM23 Legendary tactical series. Portugal in 2016 surprised everyone, as they became victorious in that year’s Euro edition, beating the almighty France in the finals. Players like Ronaldo, Nani, Pepe and the youngster Renato Sanches were their main talismans.
The team I chose to represent the then Portugal team, was SV Werder of the Bundesliga. We are currently 4th on the Bundesliga table after 15 matches. With no further ado, let’s get into the details of the tactic.
