First Leg of Atletico Madrid Tactics against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League Quarter-finals
Here’s the First Leg of Atletico Madrid Tactics against Borussia Dortmund in UCL. Since I have touched on many football managers’ tactics in FM24, I’m starting a new series to discuss how managers lined up their teams in the ongoing Champions League and Europa League Knockout stages. The team I will be looking into is Simeone’s Atletico Madrid against Borussia Dortmund in the 1st leg of the Champions League Quarter-finals.
Simeone used his 3-5-2 Asymmetric tactic, which has a back-3 system with Azpilicueta, Gimenez and Witsel. Molina was the right wing-back, while Samuel Lino was the left-side midfielder – which made the tactic asymmetric. The midfield trios were Koke, De Paul and Llorente with Morata and Greizmann as the double strikers. So let’s get into the details.
