FM23 Zinedine Zidane 2016-18 4-3-3 Tactic at Madrid | Tested with FM23 Aston Villa
In the post, I will discuss the FM23 Zinedine Zidane 2016-18 4-3-3 Tactic at Madrid under my FM23 legendary series. This was the greatest Uefa Champions League era of all time for Zidane & Real Madrid. Zinedine Zidane took over as Real Madrid’s head coach after Rafael Benitez was dismissed on 4th January 2016. In Zizou’s first-three years as Real Madrid’s head coach, he conquered Europe three times, making his team the greatest in the Champions League ever. Zidane was able to achieve this with two different tactics :
- 4-3-3 tactic
ZIzou mainly used the 4-3-3 tactic in his first season, with a front three mainly made up of Bale, Benzema and Cristiano – popularly known as the BBC. In the second and third seasons of Zidane’s tenure, due to the injury problems of Gareth Bale, he had to settle with a 4-4-2 diamond tactic – with Isco being the lone attacking midfielder behind Ronaldo and Benzema. In this post, I will discuss the 4-3-3 version I created with Aston Villa. Then in the next post, I will discuss the 4-4-2 diamond version. So let’s get into the details of the first tactic, shall we?
