FM16: Top 5 Young Strikers to Watch Out For

Spread the love

Football Manager 2016 was released officially on 13th November, 2015. And I have taken some time to get a close look at some talented young strikers of the age 19 to 23, who I feel are going to be intriguing in the new FM16 database.

These superb young players, which I am going to share in this piece, are players that have been consistent over some few years. Their developments are very much impressive and fast, and their price market values are going to be increase much more in the FM16 database. Previously, in FM15, their values ranged from £200k to £6 million, while their attributes were less but had attractive potentials.

However, with their current progress and judging from the past experiences I had with the very past FMs until FM15, I feel these young strikers are the calibre type of players that FM lovers should look out for. But the disadvantage is that some of them are very costly (at least £10 million). But the good news is that the pros of buying this top 5 overwrite the cons.

So if you love these kinds of players, or in case you want to get rid of the old forward players, here is my Top 5 list:

1. Anthony Martial

  • Born (age): December 5, 1995 (19)
  • Nationality: France
  • Club: Manchester Utd
  • Position(s): ST, AM (RL)
  • Foot: Right
  • Estimated Value: £12M – £18M

Martial is a superb player and one of the youngest players on this list I would first recommend. With just 19 of age, he has already become one of the key players in Manchester Utd. He’s very skilful, quick, and versatile when it comes to counter attacking style of play. And he’s technicality, strength, and power pose a threat to opposition defence line.

However, Martial can fit in any attacking role like left/right wings, inside forwards, and poacher. He’s more composed and maintains steady good performances.

2. Luciano Vietto

  • Born (age): December 5, 1993 (21)
  • Nationality: Argentina
  • Club: Athletico Madrid
  • Position(s): ST(C), AM(C)
  • Foot: Right
  • Estimated Value: £15M – £20 M

Moving from Villarreal CF to Athletico Madrid has been a big step for this striker, which also shows how impressive he is. His development over the years has been tremendous. He has ball control, first touch, and an impressive finishing ability (like Iňaki Williams). His form has been consistently good, and he thrives well in big games. Playing him as a complete forward (support) or target man may be more suitable in FM16. But with my observation, this player fully has the quality, worth the top spot, and one of the best young strikes in FM16.

3. Iňaki Williams

  • Born (age): June 15, 1994 (21)
  • Nationality: Spain
  • Club: Athletic Bilbao
  • Position(s): ST(C), AM(C)
  • Foot: Right
  • Estimated Value: £2M – £5M

This hot youngster has surprised Bilbao, including Europe by his excellent form; being the first black Bilbao player is another interesting part. I think he is another young forward FM fans should watch out for in FM16. What I admire in this player is his unique stamina, strength, agility, and finishing ability. He can score and assist, proving more deadly at rebounds and headings.

4. Kevin Volland

  • Born (age): July 30, 1992 (23)
  • Nationality: Germany
  • Club: TSG Hoffenheim
  • Position(s): ST(C), AM (RC)
  • Foot: Left
  • Estimated Value: £13M – £18M

Volland has been a fantastic strike starting from FM15. I brought him into my team from Hoffenheim (after a struggle with Dortmund to sign him) in a summer transfer window, but at the end of that season, he scored 55 goals under 39 appearances. He was the best and always consistent. He adapts quick to any role (such as centre striker, left/right wings, or inside forward) you give him; both in tanning and matches. Frankly, he’s a sure-quality to go after because he’s got the whole package of a complete attacker.

5. Kelechi Iheanacho

  • Born (age): October 13, 1996 (19)
  • Nationality: Nigeria
  • Club: Manchester City
  • Position(s): ST(C), AM (RC)
  • Foot: Left
  • Estimated Value: £400K – £2M

Iheanacho is one of the best young attackers emerging in the current football world. He has had a great period in Man City so far and possibly becoming a full member of the first team. In FM15, he was just 17 and his estimated value was £100K. After 3 years in Man City, he made it to the first team and his market value rose to £9 million. I was amazed by his fast rate of development; though a bit amazed because he had a high potential from the beginning. I think both his Current and Potential abilities are going to rise in FM16, making him more efficient for your team.
